Just because you’re not 21

There’s something absolutely amazing about streaming video sometimes. For instance, right now, I’m sitting in my living room while the wife and my friend Sean do chemistry homework. They’re doing that, and I’m drinking Pabst Blue Ribbon and watching Kid Dynamite tear through their reunion show at CBGB.

Ever since hearing “Death & Taxes” on a comp years ago, Kid Dynamite has been one of the hardcore bands that got me through tough times. I missed seeing them live when they were still around, since they only seemed to hit Lawrence during the summer, while I was back home with the folks. Then they broke up. The cds (Kid Dynamite and Shorter Faster Louder) still exist, however… and you should buy a copy of each for yourself, then many for your friends, so that they might know the glory that is screaming along with “Copout” as you roll down the highway to a show.

Until the first reunion show from a couple years back makes it to DVD, this will make me smile.
