Congratulations to Jeff Patterson and Susan Massman. They each won a copy of the Dinner For Schmucks soundtrack, courtesy of Lakeshore Records. For those of you who entered, and didn’t win, fear not: we’ll have more contests coming up.
Dinner For Schmucks, starring Steve Carell and Paul Rudd, hits theaters this Friday, and the soundtrack will hit stores on Tuesday, August 17. You can pre-order it over at Amazon.
Just out of curiousity, how many of you know the definition of the word ‘schmuck’?
It is a Yiddish word that translates to ‘penis’ or ‘head of the penis’ and calling someone a schmuck is the same as calling him a d**khead. I’m not really offended by the movie’s title but certainly surprised that it got by the censors. I recently came across the word ‘dreck’ in a crossword puzzle – I wonder if the creator knew that it translates to sh*t, not garbage. Everyone is welcome to use the Yiddish language, but one should what he is actually saying.
Much in the same way that “shag” means “f*ck.” Thus, the second Austin Powers movie was renamed in the UK.
