Next week brings a new Valient Thorr record

Valient Thorr – bearded rockers from Venus (located within the Earth’s core) – return June 17 with their third full-length, Immortalizer. Judging by the mp3 up on Volcom‘s website, it appears to be more amazing riffage, with vocals that fall somewhere in that mystic land between the MC5’s Rob Tyner and Lynyrd Skynyrd‘s Ronnie Van Zant.

The band is a live act not to be missed, and if they’re coming through your town, go see them. The band has a loyal following of Thorriers, inspired to worship the band not unlike Turbonegro and the Turbojugend. And, like the Turbojugend, you’re going to see more denim in one place than you ever thought possible. It’s an event, trust me. Your face will be rocked off. You will pick it up off the club floor, shake the cigarette ash off, dry the beer from it, and then place it back on your skull to be rocked off again. You will repeat this for half an hour to an hour (depending on their headlining or opening band status) and return home to tell all your friends and thank me.
