Heartbreaker series 1373

Rob Schrab is perhaps one of the most talented, yet little-known creative forces in geekdom. He was the creator of Scud – the Disposable Assassin, as well a member of the Dead Alewives (who recorded that “Dungeons & Dragons” mp3 you hear floating around the ‘Net – “where’s the Cheetos?!?!”). He ALSO co-wrote the “Heat Vision & Jack” pilot, which is perhaps one of the funniest goddamn things I’ve ever seen.

Another one of the funny things Mr. Schrab has done is the short film Robot Bastard, which I just discovered and finished watching. It’s a heartwarming tale of a robot who battles space mummies in order to rescue the president’s daughter from a space station. Totally kick ass. If you visit the Robot Bastard site, you can download the film in a variety of formats and file sizes, as well as what might be described as a “shit ton” of Schrab’s other short works.

It was also just announced that Schrab will be one of the co-producers for Sarah Silverman’s new show for Comedy Central, “Day-in-the-Life.” So, the man works with talent, folks.

Anyhow, after all that movie and tv chatter, I feel obligated to give you people some music. So, here’s the end theme to Robot Bastard, “Priest 85“, by Irritating Rainbow. Also, “Dungeons & Dragons” by the Dead Alewives (the disc is out of print and impossible to find, so I feel completely comfortable posting the link).
