Blown to hell

Lookout! Records is pretty much fucked at this point. First, they lost Green Day‘s back catalog. Then, the Queers and Screeching Weasel took their stuff over to Asian Man, and Avail moved on over to Jade Tree. This was all followed by Ted Leo leaving Lookout! to sign with Touch & Go.

Now comes the news that Operation Ivy has yanked their back catalog. According to Aversion, OpIvy’s stuff was the best selling music after Green Day’s. That officially means that about the only thing worthwhile in the long-term still being released by the label is the Donnas‘ stuff, which isn’t exactly something to hoot and holler about these days.

Hopefully, the label will close up shop soon, and just put an end to everything before it gets any more embarassing than it already is.
