New Explosion Record in the Works
Hello to all you fine friends of The Explosion. We know it has been a while since you have heard from us, and we appreciate your continued support. Just to let you know, we will begin recording our upcoming album Monday May 8th, here in beautiful Brooklyn, NYC. We have been writing up a storm, and think this will be the best batch of songs you have heard from us. The fantastic Tim O’heir will be at the dials, making this record with us. That’s all for now, check back for upcoming shows, an update to our website, and other bullshit, from you favorite bullshit artists!

This album is the follow-up to their 2004 Black Tape release on Virgin Records. This is a markedly speedier return to the studio, as there was nearly a four-year gap between their release of Flash Flash Flash on Jade Tree and Black Tape.

The Explosion probably ranks as one of my favorite bands ever. Their lives shows are not to be missed… even when they’re drunk or being shocked by ungrounded microphones, they still put in their all. Unfortunately, they always seem to play opening slots on tours with other, lesser, artists, so I’ve yet to see a set from them that’s longer than 40 minutes.

In other news, I’m sorry for the long gap between posts. Expect a serious return on Monday. This was just kind of to see if anybody’s still around and interested after my break from writing due to the wife and I’s massive move last weekend. Rock Star Journalist will return to its regular M-W-F-sometime over the weekend posting schedule next week. Promise.
