Mashing up the emo kids

Thanks to a Livejournal post by my buddy Rodney today, I have learned of a new mash-up project. The group’s called the Legion of Doom and their website has this to say:

The Legion of Doom is a music production collective based in Venice, California. Its members (whose identities remain unspecified) are musicians, producers, and programmers who were active on many different fronts over the years before forming the Legion of Doom in 2004 to focus their combined skills on a series of unique projects.

They’ve got a track on the Saw 2 soundtrack called “Home Invasion Project”, which is an original composition. They’ve remixed Wayne Newton‘s version of “Suspicious Minds” for the Las Vegas sountrack cd. Their remix of Hawthorne Height‘s “Where Do I Stab Myself In The Ears” is available on the Underworld: Evolution soundtrack.

The first proper Legion of Doom mash-up project was due out today on Antagonist Records, but “is still caught up in complicated legal arrangements” and “has proven to be more difficult than anticpated” making “the January release date we previously announced is no longer feasible”, according to LOD’s MySpace page. They’re hoping to have it out in sometime early this year.

The track listing for the disc is as follows. It’s not necessarily in this order, but these are the tracks currently planned. The album, Incorporated, will also feature cover art by reknowned artist Derek Hess.
